Charlize Theron continues to stake her claim as the greatest action star on the planet with this spy thriller set immediately before the fall of the Berlin Wall. All style and very little substance, the mind-blowingly choreographed explosions of violence turn Atomic Blonde from good to great, particularly in a bludgeoning stairwell fight that will surely go down as one of the great action sequences of all time. With its incredible 80s soundtrack and a brutal and relentless third act, this all boils over to genuine cinema gold – a visual feast and frenzy of phenomenal set pieces carried by a superstar at the very top of her game. All hail Charlize.
