A patchy comedy about a recently heartbroken woman who discovers her new boyfriend is a hitman, Mr. Right is worthwhile purely for Sam Rockwell and Anna Kendrick, two of the sharpest, most likeable actors on the planet. The plot unfortunately falls somewhere between the awkward Pitt and Jolie hit Mr. & Mrs. Smith and the Affleck and J.Lo debacle Gigli and there are way too many implausible moments, but the chemistry between the leads is impeccable – Kendrick’s a clear star and the permanently underrated Rockwell gives another charismatic performance. The two are watchable in literally any capacity, and comfortably make an inconsistent film enjoyable.
