Richard Linklater follows up his career defining classic Boyhood with a film billed as a spiritual sequel to his cult favourite Dazed And Confused. Set around a group of college baseball players in 1980, this is decidedly less ambitious than Boyhood but no less enjoyable, with a relaxed, casually brilliant vibe from start to finish. Comfortably coasting along on a refreshingly low stakes outlook and cheerful nostalgia, with a cast of little known yet infinitely likeable young actors – Glen Powell, Blake Jenner and Zoey Deutch look set for future stardom while Wyatt Russell continues his run of affable supporting roles – Everybody Wants Some!! is just a good time all round.
