A start to finish rehash of the original, this time with Chloë Grace Moretz’s sorority leader in place of the first movie’s terrorizing frat brothers, Bad Neighbours 2 has unfortunately scaled down on the laughs too. The cast are again solid – Rose Byrne was the star of the first movie and shines again here, matching Seth Rogen’s ludicrously bad decision making throughout, while Zac Efron continues to impress as a comedy actor – but this is overfamiliar and a little too stale. Never as consistent as its predecessor, it’s still never less than entertaining, benefiting from a few genuinely hilarious set pieces and excellent comedic chemistry between Rogen and Byrne.
